March 12 pm - March 13 am

This is Connor writing. Yesterday afternoon we worked on a new portion of La Nicaraguita where we painted metal beams that would form the second floor of the school. After part of the group climbed on to the second floor, we soon realized that a few of us had a fear of heights. But after overcoming our fears and the blazing sun, we were pleasantly surprised at how much work we had gotten done. Afterwards, it was rice and beans again for dinner, and then a quiet night with my family where we ironically talked about rice and beans! The next day we were joined our respective classes for their field day; there was a lot of cheering as we participated in a relay race where we sat on balloons and ran back to tag our next teammate. After besting the fourth and fifth grade, we were congratulated by swarms of children cheering our names and giving us hugs. Then afterwards, I rejoined my third grade and tried as hard as I could to break up boys wrestling on the ground, understand the jokes being told, and generally trying to follow the instructions of La Profesora. Next, we went to dance class where we worked on learning salsa. We´re getting pretty good!
